Young Referees Development Programme
The Isle of Man currently has a Junior Referee's Academy which takes on young referee's from the ages of 14 to 21 (or once they achieve level 6).
The purpose of the academy is to work with young referee's to help them improve their skill in controlling a game of football.
Through this, the referee's also build on their interpersonal skills and life skills. They mostly officiate in under 14's and under 12's football and once they reach 16 they may assist on a Premier League or the Women's League. If the candidate is of a high standard they may also be invited to referee Combination football.
