Rushen United's U21 Cowell Cup team lifted the Kirby Estates Cowell Cup last night (Wed 17th May) after beating Onchan 2-1 in a scintillating final.

Adam Cooil put the Spaniards ahead on eight minutes, before Ethan Leivers responded for Onchan with an equaliser on 17 minutes. The Os seemed to take control of the match but, rather against the run of play, Rushen captain Scott Mason blasted a shot into the roof of the Onchan net to make it 2-1.

The second-half was feisty and action packed, but the score remained the same until referee, Oliver Johnson, blew the final whistle.
