U16 play Blackpool and Morecambe

The Isle of Man FA Centre of Excellence Boys u16s travelled to north west England this weekend on a training trip to play against Blackpool FC Academy and Morecambe FC Academy.

The squad came up against a well organised Blackpool side who ran out 4-0 winners at Myerscough College on Friday night. The Isle of Man could have been on the scoresheet on a few occasions early on in the friendly and with a bit more luck could have found the net late on in the game but it wasn’t to be in the night.

In a very tight game against Morecambe on Sunday morning, Blake Henwood (St John's United) equalised for the Isle of Man in the first half but unfortunately Morecambe managed to convert one of the few chances they had in the second half to win 2-1.

Well done to all the lads who competed very well. Thank you to Jacksons IOM for their continued support of Isle of Man youth football and also the travelling parents who supported the players.
