Youth Council to be formed

The Isle of Man Football Association is setting up a Youth Council and is looking for new volunteers ahead of the 2019/20 season.

What is the Youth Council?

Isle of Man County FA Youth Council is a group of young people aged 14-24 whose mission is to increase youth representation in football and to raise awareness of opportunities available for young people within football.

Why apply?

Joining the Youth Council is a great tool for personal development, the skills learned and developed during your time in the Youth Council such as; planning, leadership, communication and teamwork will arm you with valuable skills required for success in your future career.

What is the commitment?

During the 2019/20 season there will be a minimum of 4 meetings that will take place in midweek evenings. Youth Council members will also work on specific projects for which they will be required to attend associated events for during the season. We ask applicants to consider if they feel they will be able attend at least 75% of youth council commitments during the season before registering there interest. 

Who should apply?

The youth council is available to anyone aged 14-24 years old, if you are motivated about increasing youth representation across grassroots football in the county and to raise awareness of opportunities for young people, then this is the role for you!

Applicants will be informed by August 7th 2019.

First meeting will be on the 8th August 2019.

As this role involves direct access to young persons under the age of eighteen, within the context of the job or any subsequently related activities or responsibilities, the successful candidates will undergo a thorough screening process, which will include a Criminal Records Check if over the age of 16 to ensure their suitability for the role. Please be aware that if you turn 16 years of age during your appointment as a Youth Council member you be required to carry out n FA CRC Check on your 16th birthday.

All successful candidates will be required to undertake safeguarding training appropriate to the role and will have to adhere to the CFA’s Volunteer Code of Conduct.
