IOMFA Junior League Enjoy Everton Academy Visit

An IOMFA Junior League Representative team from the Under 9's played against Everton FC Academy on Saturday at The Bowl.

Despite taking the lead and putting up a battling performance the Manx boys eventually lost to our guests from Merseyside. Three quick goals in the early part of the second period and one right at the end too made it 4-1 to the Tiny Toffees.

IOM Junior Coach Michael Fitzmaurice commented, “The boys played brilliant and the score line was a little bit harsh on us in the end, we should have got it back to 3-2 but missed a great chance and then Everton went down the other end and scored with a few minutes to go to make it 4-1. To think our boys have only had 1 training session together the night before the game so to play like they did was fantastic and goal scorer Nathan Robinson will remember his goal for a long time I’m sure” he went on to say “It was a big team effort behind the scenes and special thanks must go to Brian Callow and Lee Dixon for their part in giving our boys a chance to test their skills and aid their development against such strong opposition”

The IOMFAJFL would like to thank the following for their cooperation in arranging this fixture:

Mr Lee Dixon, Mr David Quirk MHK, The Ascot Hotel, The NSC, St Marys AFC & CuPlas.
