Rushen United claimed the Ascot Hotel Junior Cup title on Wednesday 24th May with victory over St Johns United, meaning they remained unbeaten in any competition in the 2022-23 season.

The Spaniards took the lead through Aaron Hawley before the break, and made it 2-0 just after through a Charlie Jackson long range effort. 

 St John's United pressed on though, and a looping header from the Canada Life Combination League's top goal-scorer - Liam Sayle - made it 2-1. Unfortunately, Sayle couldn't convert a great opportunity in front of goal on 83m to draw his side level, leaving Rushen United - and their dedicated fans - to celebrate.

Pedro Cardoso of St Johns United was named Player of the Match for persistently troubling the Rushen defence.
