COE U15s Win at Fleetwood

The u15s Centre of Excellence went away over the Easter weekend to the Northwest of England.

On Friday they visited Fleetwood Town Football Club's impressive training ground / academy and played a friendly match against a very talented Bispham Football Federation side who included players from Fleetwood, Blackpool, Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers with the IOM boys battling to a 1-0 deserved victory.

 

On the Saturday and Sunday they competed in the Blackpool Cup in the under 16 section against teams from England and Scotland unfortunately narrowly loosing the plate final 2-1. Overall the boys record was played 8 won 5 and lost 3 games.

 

Lead coach Michael Fitzmaurice commented "overall a good experience for the boys both socially and from a football development point of view particularly the game on Friday" he also went on to say "thank you to the IOM Steam Packet and Black Van Hire for all their help with providing travel arrangements"
